Since 1999, Albury Central has been funded by a levy on all commercial businesses located within the CBD boundaries of Wilson Street, Hume Street, Young Street and Wodonga Place. The funds raised annually are directed towards activities designed to bring people to the Albury CBD to shop, eat out, attend appointments and utilise professional services.
The organisation is managed by a voluntary committee of management made up of people - business owners, managers and employees who are committed to keeping Albury vibrant so that all businesses within the area benefit.
Albury Central is your organisation; we are funded by you...... for your benefit!
The mission of Albury Central Inc. is to encourage people to visit the Albury CBD to satisfy all of their commercial, entertainment and shopping needs.
Albury Central Inc. will achieve its mission:
- Through events and promotional activity that enhance the vibrancy of Dean Street and the surrounding commercial precinct;
- By encouraging the pursuit of business excellence and the development of networks amongst members; and by representing the views of members on issues relating to Dean Street and the surrounding commercial precinct.
Albury Central’s goal is to maintain the heart of Albury. Its key purpose is to bring people into the Albury CBD to shop, eat out and remain connected with the community around us. What is a city without a heart?
AlburyCity Council’s community strategic plan, Albury 2030 includes the theme A Growing Economy. This looks at increasing tourism in Albury and the surrounding region, improve visitors and residents’ experience and promote Albury for industry and business.
