is a street theatre & buskers festival?
Busking is the art of street performing. Unlike
any other type of performance it is unique in
style with musicians, performing artists and other
disciplines showcasing their talent on the pavement.
Allow your mind to go beyond the general images
associated with 'busking' , the Applause Festival
takes on many guises: it is creators of contemporary
art, curators of fine music, characters of circus
and contributers of cryptic performances.
Living statues move before your eyes, circus performers
juggle, tumble, spin and cycle and the music transforms
and transports you - an eclectic mix of jazz,
funk, Celtic, rock, country, swing and acoustic
pieces.

The Applause Festival brings entertainment
to the people. There is no other form of
artistic expression that is more diverse,
action orientated, spontaneous or accessible.
The world may be a stage, but Dean street
is their audience, drawing, rewarding, reacting
and applauding.
There is not cost, the entertainment is
free, we only request that you show your
appreciation by contributing to the buskers
hat during or at the end of the show.
